    Exemplars

The Italic hand was developed during the Renaissance in Italy by Papal scribes in order to write more quickly. It is a sloping hand with some joins to facilitate speed. Three writing Masters, Arrighi, Taglente, and Palatino produced some of the first writing manuals. We, however, will use the Cantaneo Manuscript of 1545 as our model.
